As an integral and vital part of the Montreal glass works company, Hectarus, Francesca Alepin Kneider has been the signature artist since 1990 for:

• multiple large-scale architectural projects, and
• dozens of original living-space products.

Architectural Projects

Projects done in collaboration with the renowned international painter and glass artist, Marcelle Ferron, to integrate art into architecture as part of the "1% Program" sponsored by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications of Québec, include:

• The Bethany Presbytery in Québec City, Québec, Canada (1991)
• The Sainte-Marie Hospital in Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada(1992)
• The Bishops University Library in Lennoxville, Québec, Canada (1993)
• The Sainte-Justine Hospital in Montréal, Québec, Canada (1994)
• The Point du Jour Primary School in l'Assomption, Québec, Canada (1996)
• The refurbishing of the Champ-de-Mars Métro Station in Montréal, Québec, Canada(2000)
• The CLSC-CHSLD du Marigot Long-Term Care Hospital Center, Laval, Québec, Canada (2002)

Other architectural design projects include:

• The American Embassy in Ottawa, Canada - In 1997, a first of its kind on the architectural scene, this project involved numerous immense slabs of glass for the exterior pyramid as well as the floor of the main entrance.

• The Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City, Utah - Calling on many aspects of architectural design, this project involved the creation of a dozen immense and magnificent glass chandeliers adorning the ceilings.

• Les Trois Tilleuls in Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu, Quebec - The design of the ladies' washroom would mark the beginning of a series of integrations of art into the architecture of the hotel.

• The Spa Givenchy in Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu, Quebec - This 2001 project involved the design of the interior and exterior architectural glass integration.

Why do we have interior designs including architectural exteriors? It's because Francesca's glass art designs come from a mysterious, creative inner space. And her creations add immense value to ALL living spaces, whether interior or exterior.
